We support people in Ireland with high barriers to employment to access the labour market and support them to find jobs, training and access to further education. High barriers include: immigration, homelessness, early school leaving, addiction and mental health issues. We help them gain and sustain employment and move towards greater integration and independence.

• 4 weeks pre-employment skills training • 1.5 weeks Living & Working in Ireland integration training • 2 days IT skills training provided by BT • Mock interview by CPL • Personal development training – motivation, managing stress • 1 – 1 Career Guidance, job application & interview support for as long as needed • 1 – 1 Psychosocial support and referral service • Many opportunities to benefit from business supports • Opportunities for work experience placements (when available)
The funding will support 10 individuals through the programme with 4 weeks pre-employment skills training, 2 days of IT skills training and mock interview preparation. Each individual will received 1 to 1 support and guidance tailored to their own needs. There will be opportunities for work placement. 100% will re-gain confidence and self esteem. Over 70% who participate will gain employment or start eduction/training to progress to employment.
Business in the Community Ireland has 12 years’ experience of supporting people who are disadvantaged in the job market and during that time, we have helped:
• Over 1,300 immigrants • Over 594 adults with significant challenges e.g. addiction etc • Almost 400 homeless people find job placements. • 75% of those who participated gained employment or started education/training to progress to employment

Amount of funding requested
The target per beneficiary is Euro €1,900 per person. Our Funding target is €19,500. Our project goal is to give 10 adults access to pre-employment training and support.

Employment is the key to addressing social disadvantages – it brings financial independence, increases confidence and self-esteem, develops skills, builds social networks and can provide a route to independent living. If you fund up to 1 individual at €1,900, you will have the personal satisfaction of supporting a person to access pre-employment training and experience If you fund up to 5 individuals at €9,500, you will give 5 people a chance to become job ready, gain experience and access employment If you fund up to 10 individuals at €19,000, you will significantly impact on their lives and help them access employment and become financially independent Acknowledgment and Thanks will be discussed with each project backer once pledge committed.
